Haiku

mountain

true straight
swaying with the wind
up again

reckless flight
soaring then dive
rest again and sleep

trees swaying
in gentle wind
unending

bareness
stripped nothing left
to reveal

slow talk
fast thought process
beauty

hand out
joyful smile around
corners life

cartoon
dreams of real
not so smiley

cracks
life falls open
forever

reaching
dancing skyward
futures

daily voice
inner relations
never

timeless
open can open
past

voices whisper
above crowd and yet
still unheard

careening with
choice of direction
speederman

blank slate
speaks loud verbs
imagination

faster around
struggle in lead
fall back

pieces aware
simple toy
machine

easy chair trip
dimensional shift
only lunch time

never
relation inner
voices daily

singing loud
names to hear syllables
difference abound

our laughter
resonates above the noise
simply sing

glance
eye contact
short view of soul

lifted by
a breath shortened
normality once again

spring forth
and
morning

faultless
guiltless
listlessly falling according
to plan

a man looks within himself and finds he has lost his soul. he feels pointless, disgusted with his animal impulses, bitter furious. he turns to others, but they abuse him or betray him. he examines authority and sees only cruelty and corruption; he cannot feel any faith. he lashes out, but that brings no satisfaction. he seeks oblivion, but stops short of suicide. in the end he decides simply to endure. if life is purgatory at least the pain is real.
